Lapierre is a French bicycle manufacturer that not only makes some of the best and technologically-advanced bikes in the world, but they also have the coolest people working for them and riding for them. Their history and lineage is bigger and better than most manufacturers out there with the likes of 10x World Champion Nicolas Vouilloz, 2x World Champion Emmeline Ragot, French- and Junior World- Champions Loic & Loris and NZ Champ Sam riding and designing their bikes. There is no surprise that they are the fastest DH team in the world.
I have had the pleasure to work with closely with Lapierre for the last few years, photographing the team members and documenting their latest bikes. Becoming friends with the race team members and their crew has been such a laugh.
Journalists representing magazines and websites come from around the world to test and review the company's newest bikes each year and it is a great fun time chasing them around the mountains capturing their follies.
This year we were able to stay a little more local. Les Gets is the next village over from Morzine and it was there that Lapierre set up their press camp. The weather stayed nice enough for us to get a few days riding in and we managed to capture a few good shots in the process.
All in, the Press Camp was huge success and everyone had a great time. I got to ride with some of the world's
finest funnest journalists and capture every grin and tumble.
