Claire and Liam’s wedding was something straight out of a fairy story. The whole day from start to finish was jam packed with emotions, hilarity and great moments.
The morning started with the official signing ceremony at Morzine’s town hall. After that, I headed out with the groom and few of his close friends up towards Avoriaz and a fun rock climbing spot. What a great way to relax into the day.
From there I joined the bride and her girls at her accommodations. While she was being made up to look absolutely beautiful, I took care of the dress and detail shots.
The horse and cart arrived and we climbed onboard and made our way to The Farmhouse for the next part. Shielded from the guests’ view, we passed the venue so we could disembark and make our way through the 18th century building.
The day was as stunning as the couple. Hot without being scorching and the views were magnificent as always from The Farmhouse’s lawns.
After the champagne reception, the guests made their way to the covered marquee dining room. This enormous tent was actually erected around the old apple tree, which made the entire room feel not only spacious and airy, but still a part of the outside world. Lovely.
The great thing about this venue is there are no shortage of beautiful spots to take photos of the couple. Being the oldest property in Morzine, The Farmhouse has a stately beauty that makes taking great photos easy.
Following the dinner and speeches, I got the now legendary Genepi Bottle Cam out again and watched in amusement as it was passed around the tables and guests. Liam perfectly timed the finishing of the bottle under the awed gaze of the kids.
Bouquet toss turned out to be a difficult one to capture due to the rapidly diminishing light. Night was descending fast and as good as my cameras and lenses are, I was certainly pushing their limits this evening!
First dance was beautiful and soon the entire crowd was drawn into the dance floor for some fantastic displays of dancing prowess.
Such an amazing wedding with amazing people. I am constantly reminded how much I enjoy being a part of such a important day and being included in such a close-knit group of people. So a huge Thank You to Claire and Liam for having me with you on your day! You, your families and friends are awesome!
I love my job!
