A most incredible day.

Choosing to have your wedding in the French Alps in April was a risky choice. However, Lisa and Simon pulled off one of the most incredibly stunning events the Alps has seen.

We had mixtures of rain and snow for a week before Easter Monday, yet when we opened our eyes to the new day, we were greeted with brilliant sunshine, fresh snow on the ground and warmer temperatures. It really couldn't have worked out any better than that!

I managed to spend some time in the morning with the groom and his best men, which is always great to be able to achieve. I love being able to capture the groom's nervous preparations and think it is an integral part of the day's story.

The groom's preparations are nothing compared to what generally goes on in the bride's accommodation! Girls have a lot more to prepare for and with hair, make-up and dresses being perfected along with glasses of bubbly being consumed, there is a lot of photographic opportunities to watch out for!

The ceremony was held on the beautiful shores of Lac Montriond with stunning scenery all around. Lisa & Simon's friends and family gathered around them as they exchanged their vows in front of Kay from Always Number One. After some glasses of Champagne in the sun, Lisa, Simon and I headed off to get the Creatives done while the guests headed off to the second location.

Arriving at the base of Mont Chéry, we just made it onto the last of the cable car uplifts. Exiting the top, the couple made their way to the meeting point for the snow groomer to pick us all up (after snowball fights and general shenanigans) to take us to the incredible altitude restaurant La Grande Ourse.

There, watching over one of the most majestic views available in the French Alps, everyone was treated to a 5 star wedding reception dinner. Fantastic live music was supplied by local band The Buskers who got the party going after the delicious food.

Finally, well after midnight and much dancing, the snow groomer arrived to transport me back to my car so I could return home to a much needed glass of scotch while I uploaded and backed up all the memory cards.

All told, it was A Most Incredible Day. Everything went super smoothly and the entire event could not have gone any better. It was perfect.
